301 – Proposta de desenvolvimento e aplicação da metodologia lean six sigma para melhoria do processo de atendimento ambulatorial em um hospital público de trauma do sul do brasil
The concepts of Lean and Six Sigma, a methodology used in the industrial area for process improvement based on value and time and designed to ensure continuous flows and eliminate waste, are very commonly applied in manufacturing but can be useful in other segments. In the hospital area, it is one of the tools to achieve the goals of the National Health Plan. Considerable attention should be paid especially to the Single Health System (SUS), where the allocation and proper use of resources can save lives. Based on this principle, the cited concepts were applied in the outpatient clinic of Hospital do Trabalhador, a reference center in trauma and rehabilitation in the city of Curitiba-PR, specifically aiming at reducing the patient's waiting time for the consultation. For this, a case study was performed where the DMAIC method was applied. The proposed tools were validated through computer simulations and mathematical analysis and a new layout for the ambulatory flow was developed. The simulations, together with the new layout, provided not only an estimate of future attendance times, but also a sizing of the teams according to demand. Specific indicators were created to provide a clear definition, in quantitative terms, of the physical capacity of the outpatient clinic and its potential for reception. The simulations suggest that the waiting time for consultations can be reduced by up to 57.14% of the current time. More people will be able to be attended in less time with greater effectiveness and satisfaction of the users of these services.
